The coronavirus pandemic has led to the closure of a number of meat processing plants and slaughterhouses in the United States and Germany. It has now become known that the meat processing sector in France has also suffered from COVID-19.
To date, 34 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at a slaughterhouse in Fleury-le-Aubre, near Orleans (110 km from Paris). By order of the prefecture, the company will be temporarily closed for the time necessary to complete investigations and conduct disinfection procedures on the premises.
This is the second case in the last month of closing or restricting the work of French meat companies with coronavirus among employees. So at one of the livestock enterprises in Brittany (Prefecture of Côtes-d’Armor) last week organized a large-scale campaign to check employees for the presence of coronavirus disease. A total of 209 employees were tested. The results of the analysis showed that 69 people became infected with the virus. Now the enterprise works in a mode of strict quarantine.
