There is a downward correction on the free market of live poultry. The trend reversal should come as no surprise when prices suddenly soared to the level of 4.80-4.90 PLN / kg. The difference in the price of live cattle at the level of 0.70 PLN / kg for contractors will be difficult to support. It places slaughterhouses based on the free market in a strongly non-competitive position.
With the unstable market caused by the shortage of livestock, the month of July may be characterized by high volatility of prices on a weekly basis.
It is stable on the contracting market. The level of 4.10-4.15 PLN / kg should be supported in the near future. Slaughterhouses most affected by restrictions on the supply of livestock from regions affected by the influenza virus temporarily reduced production, adjusting slaughter to the real supply of raw material.
It was very expensive in the carcass market until last Wednesday. It is still expensive, but with the proviso that we have been observing a downward trend since the end of week 26. Prices dropped on average by over 1 PLN / kg. Similarly to the free livestock market – extremely high prices (above 8.50 PLN / kg) are unsustainable for a longer period.
The market will remain volatile until the daily supply of carcass is relatively stable. This will happen when the raw material from new insertions from the areas affected by the avian flu virus is launched. We will have to wait 2-3 more weeks for this.
The discount on the carcass market contributed to a large decline in the fillet price.
On the turkey market, livestock has remained at the level of 6.20-6.40 PLN / kg for over a week. The low demand for components caused prices to stagnate. Except for the fillet, the price of which decline on average by 0.50 PLN / kg.
