The total pig population in China is growing for the fifth month in a row. Due to this, prices for pork and pork products are gradually declining.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that the livestock in November increased by 29.8% compared to the same period last year, while the breeding herd of pigs increased by 31.2% for the year.
Average pork prices fell to 45.8 yuan ($ 6.99) per kilogram, the lowest figure in 2020.
The ministry notes that the downward trends were achieved due to the increase in the supply of meat on the country’s market.
